Mine tamer 16 kidnapped in Afghanistan

Kabul (AFP) - Gunmen kidnapped 16 tamer mines in Afghanistan, on Wednesday, but freed nine of them several hours later and took the rest to an unknown location, police said.
No one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping, which occurred in the restive region Muhmand Dara on the border with Pakistan. However, criminal groups and guerrilla kidnapped dozens of foreigners and Afghanistan since US-led invasion in 2001 toppled the Taliban regime in Kabul.
"Gunmen attacked and kidnapped 16 tamer mine this morning but freed nine of them several hours later," said General Aminullah Amarkhail, border police chief for Nangarhar province, told AFP.
Amarkhail say, one person was arrested for alleged involvement in the kidnapping.
The tamer mines were worked for the Organization and Rehabilitation Mine Cleanup Afghanistan (Omar) who is based in Afghanistan.
Nine Afghan private security guards for a construction company was kidnapped in Kabul province on Monday, said the interior ministry.
